3rd gen Hilux Surf Field Monitor Unit

After a few years of searching and waiting I was finally able to acquire a Field Monitor. I'm so excited!... But it doesn't have the thermostat. Will all the functions of the monitor work without the thermostat or is it crucial to have one? I've been looking everywhere and tomorrow I'm going to start contacting JDM importers around the southeast to try and get one. What are my options here? I hate having an incomplete unit. Any help or advice is much appreciated!

Get yourself a temp sensor from a subaru forester or outback...it's the exact same ones that came on the hilux surf. Look in the junkyards or order one up from a subaru dealer.
