3rd Gen Lightbar Setups

Hey Folks,

Now that daytime runs from roughly 8am to 3pm in WNY, I'm looking for suggestions / experiences with light bars. Both with mounting locations and brands. I see a ton of relatively inexpensive ones online, wondering if anyone has tried them (don't really want to throw $500 at a rigid). Also wondering where folks are running them, bumper vs hood vs roofrack? Any help is appreciated! - Tim

I ran an amazon bar mounted to my bumper (aftermarket) for like 2 years till someone tried to steal it and broke one of the mounts. If you have a 96-98 I would suggest modifying your grill like the Satohsi style and mounting it to that. I have an amber/white bar there now and dont have any issue.

I have an 01 with the plastic bumper, was considering just drilling into the top and mounting one of the cheapo amazon ones there. do you remember what brand yours was?

There are so many good ones at ultra reasonable prices. I'd avoid installing on the top forward cuz of all the glare onto the hood. Depending on what your objectives are just consider None are for driving on legal roads, the blind everyone. For offroad, forward, side and rear facing can be very useful.

I've installed forward and rear. Forward inside the lower air intakes. I like these cuz of the light spread: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-4-120W-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Luck and enjoy. :cowboy:
