You went with 3" lift for rear correct? If using your stock Pan Hard Bar it will not center body to axle.

I went over my entire parts list with toytec on the phone before ordering, I also talked to a few locals that seem well versed in t4r's and no one has mentioned this to me.

Yeah apparently depending on the people who claim to know the most about the parts needed for this lift was not the best idea I've had. (Cough cough, Thanks Hugo, cough cough)
Looks like I'll be ordering a panhard bar or a drop kits soon

On my 96 I went with adjustable to center body with axle. Going that route effects the geometry of the suspension. When I hit bumps in the road rearend scoots left to right. If you notice with stock height, bar is level. It's best to keep it that way.
On my 01 3" lift Toytec. I found eimkeith's kit on this forum keeps bar level. Suspension rides fantastic.

It is best to raise axle end, lower frame end. Don't take my word for it search panhard correction kit here. I bought two kits 1for 96 1 for 01 01 installed 96 to come.

Speaking from experience don't waste your money on adjustable bar. My SS1.2 kit came with adjustable bar. With Keith's kit you can use your stock bar.

I think what people are saying is an adjustable bar is not necessary. 86 bucks to Keith will level your bar. No adjustable bar will get level by going longer or shorter, thats not the problem. The problem is the panhard bar not sitting level will cause geometry problem. You cant fix thst with a longer bar.

Ok now I'm actually confused. What is the purpose of the bar being level? I understand that the bar should be lengthened in order to center the axle but what's the purpose of the bar being level?

I'm going to be a bit of a dickhead with this. I mentioned doing a search on this site for IemKieth in the 6 or more page posting you will be able to clear your confusion. Or Google "Vehicle Roll Center" will explain it all. This subject has been beat to death over the years. Search and Read are your best friends.

I'm a mk2 guy so it wasn't too bad and at least they were always pretty easy to fix but it was always something! My last one was an S1 scirocco. I'm sure I'll get another one or maybe a corrado again some day though.That just means you were buying the wrong VW
