Im so frustrated! I have a '01 Limited 4x4 with 142000mi on it. I was starting to notice "hiccups" while driving at highway speeds in the engine about a week ago. I noticed it would usually happen when the engine was under a slight load, like up hill climbs.
Over the course of the week, it was getting worse. Finally it was making multiple shutters while under almost any condition, mainly while starting from a stop. It also did it while at rest. If I could describe it, it felt almost as though the traction control is kicking in, 'bogging' down the engine. Engine light comes on and I take it it to the shop. They tell me its misfires on the engine. Of course I know they simply read the OBD computer and shutoff the Check light.
Well $400 dollars later and new plugs and wires, it solved the higher rpm symptom, but still shutters during acceration from stop.
SO, any ideas from anyone???
