ok, original HU, faceplate # AD6803 is dying. cdplayer is shot, and although I could care less, the tape player is shot too. Ive read all about swapping for the Scion HU, but Im not excited about its looks, or having to home-make cables or solder things, or cut my dash to fit them. So, Ive somewhat reluctantly begun shopping for another of the same oem head unit. It gives me what I need and Ive got my satellite radio connection all worked out, so there's no rethinking that as well.
I see many other faceplate models out there, all look identical, on ebay. I see the A56811, the A56813, 16814, 16815, AD6805, and 16823, and Im sure there are others. Are they all the same in terms of power and sound quality, if they look the same? Just diff faceplate numbers to help toyota identify which model of car installed in? something like that?
Anyway, anyone got a good oem head unit they want to get rid of, I might be interested. Im just wary of buying another radio from a high mileage vehicle like the one I got.
