Ok NEW to this, finally got my 3rd Gen 4Runner after months of searching I got it for a steal. 01 Limited. First things first are to paint the alloys black and give it a slight lift.
Looking around and reading up I found that spacers or body lifts are the most cost effective way to get the job done. Its a 2WD so I dont plan on doing any off roading so its just for looks, Does anyone have any pictures of theirs that have used either method??

A lot of people on here have hard ons for body lifts, I don't know why. They look like **** and aren't particularly safe. I had a 3" Toytec spacer lift with rear OME coils on stock shocks for a few months before I did it the right way and got OME shocks and coils all around. It rode like ****. Do it right and get real shocks and coils the first time.

A 1" or 2" body lift should have few negative effects...however the 2" will give you some unsightly gaps in a few areas. The 1" BL is very useful for running big tires, but doesn't lift you enough to matter much for just looks.

On a 2wd, if you're just going for looks, the lift I would do would be this:

-1" BL ($120)
-1.5" Daystar rear coil spacers ($40)
-Bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks. ($200)

You could get 2" front spacers, but they are $130...so you might as well get the nice Bilsteins for only $70 more. Since you're 2wd, there are no problems with CV angles or anything.

Thanks! What are your thoughts on the complete leveling kits?

Got my front wing and ion color progreate fog lights from Jaos. Soon, KC Hilites backup halogen flood lights and Old Man EMU coils; still having issues with the stock suspension, it just sucks.

LOL, I had to make the same decision a couple weeks ago.

I decided to keep it, but one end one pushed in a BIT too far, so I went to try and bend it back out and the whole thing shattered into two pieces.

I think it was the Lord, or maybe even the Devil himself telling me that it was ugly.

Now I like it better without it.

Anyway, moral of the story, it looks better without the bug guard.

Yup, I took mine off because it broke in two also.
