Went camping and did a little wheeling. The first time I've done any sort of wheeling since I did the lift and tires. Was pretty happy. He's a couple pics. Up, and then back down!

I'm PCS'ing to Colorado Springs. Super excited to be out in Colorado, but not looking forward to having to drive straight through

Lucky SOB! I just did 900+miles just to end up in TX! Make sure change all the fluids and bump the tire pressure up a lil (40psi for me) for better mpg's. Have fun in CO, there's about a 1% chance that I might PCS there, fingers crossed.

It needs to be chopped off, I freaking hate the IFS on this thing.

Although, I might toss an Aussie into it, fairly cheap

Nice Dous! I am ready to go back to ure, only been once with my 3rd. I feel the same way about these front ends, the only part of our runners that makes me think about getting a .........?eep!

wow that's a bit of a hike. you stationed in TX? I'm at Lackland for another week...this place can kiss my ass. I got pretty lucky on CO, I all but grew up there and it was my first choice for my next duty station and the AF felt kind enough to give it to me. thanks for the input on the maintenance. I plan on doing all fluids, as well as taking care of the timing belt/water pump (might as well, I'm sitting right around 125k). hadn't thought about the tire pressure though, good call!

I agree. I'm getting real tired of how weak everything on the front end is. I have a hard time spending 750 for a front ARB when every time it's engaged it's going to snap cv's at the slightest binding. The cv's break easy enough as it is. I figure you might as well put that 750 in the SAS fund.

Trust me. I'm right there with ya. But in the mean time, $800 is a lot easier to spend than if you're going to do it right, around $3-$4000 for a SAS.

This scared me though...

and it makes me want to quit wheeling it so hard and just save up for a dedicated crawler I can beat the hell out of. A lot of people call me crazy for taking such a nice vehicle where I take it. After that little episode happened, yea.. I'll agree, I'm crazy.

CV damage, no problem.. Mechanical/suspension damage, easily fixable.. Body damage, me no likey..

wow...immaculate paint condition for a wheeler. I just can't get my head around that. photoshop eh?

Sorry I did't see this or I would've replied sooner....

Believe it or not, what you see is what the 4runner's condition truly is for what I use it for. I spent 8 hours that day to fully detail just the exterior of it. You just couldn't see the deeper pinstripings but there's plenty of them on there.

I washed, claybarred, and finish it up with two coats of Jetseal 109 with my orbital DA.

It really works wonders.....

P.S. I don't even have the Photoshop program myself:biggrin2: If you look to the bottom of the front fender flare, there's a whitish mark which I burned with the polisher...ouch!!

newbie here picked up this '97 limited 4x4 a few weeks ago. I've done a few minor mods and alot of maintenance but looking forward to lifting and modding some more.....
