Plasti-dip...two cans and some tape. It'll cost you $20 and you can do it however you want...

I've seen yours before. Definitely like the looks of it. Definitely an option as it can always come off later and also be touched up. Where as if I get the vinyl and it gets a scratch, the scratch is there permanently.

Ya it definitely seems like it. I think if I ever jumped on the LED band wagon I would try to build a shelf or an extension to extend in front of the LED to block all light from hitting the hood if I got a flood lamp. Then again, for a roof light I would probably opt for a spot/euro combo and for the bumper a flood light.

Hopefully plastidipping the hood helps with the glare.

The windshield led bar is a flood/spot combo. I just think no matter what beam it has it produces so much freaking light it would have the same effect on the hood. There's just no way around it.

Yep, that's why I went with plasti-dip. Wasn't sure how is like it so I didn't want anything permanent. It's been a year and still looks good...no chipping or peeling, even after using the car wash and a pressure washer.

Yep. I have all spot and I still get a massive amount of glare off the hood.

Here you go. I received mine primered, painted the grille black with duplicolor bedliner and the mesh in red engine paint. The emblem needed a touch-up so i purposely did a crappy job taping to give it a rustic look.













Side note: If you aren't comfortable with the glassing and such, Adam was great to work with and does some pretty slick work.

Sorry but to be fair your roommate is somewhat right. The Miata is one of the most glorified circuit racers of all time. It is far from a "piece of shit". Of course depending on how he has modified / restored it will verify this!

I know was jk lol eace: they are a blast to drive, but his is indeed a pos because of the extensive rust and engine problems... To be fair I was thinking about getting one for auto-x but now I am thinking I will end up picking up an mr2 trubo. The MR2's have bad over steer but that can mostly be fixed with some suspension mods!

Ditch lights: installed and wired.

I got my ditch lights wired up, finally. They are 4" LEDs and they are nice and bright. And there is not too much glare from the hood, given its green.

So I may actually be enlisting your services again if you're still available of course... I got in a fender bender 2 days after i got the grille put on :lookout: So im going to build a plate front bumper and probably do a taco swap since the core support, passenger side fender and eyebrow got damaged pretty good and we all know it'd be at least 1500 to pull out the paint gun anyways. That being said i'd have you do the grille and probably get some projectors retro-fit into the new housings before I do the swap.

I have a front bumper in Imperial Jade Micha(metallic green) if you need something temporary. You gould just rattle can it black or whatever. No fog or blinker lights, but straight and all there. P.O. must have been a tailgater or something, because it has a ton of chips. I'll give you a screaming deal.

Dream Car Attained

Woah! Been a long journey since page 1 of this thread a few months ago, but I've finally made it!

Been in love with 4Runners since I was a kid. Officially deemed my dream car I think when I was around 10 years old, sitting on my dads lap in his '86 4Runner while he "taught" me to drive stick (he put 350k on it over 15 years). After 4 years of searching for the right truck for the right price since I was 16, I found my '01 4Runner Sport Edition. ~190K on the odo right now, ~177K on it when I got it in August 2012, I like to use my stuff . Couldn't ask for a better vehicle. Only mod so far is taking running boards off, planning for more when I'm done college in December '14 when I have a job *crossing fingers*.

Sorry to ramble, but here's a few pics, hoping to do more offroading if I can find places to go in New England (its a struggle especially in MA).
