Its not a very big shelf, even crazier how it has the most ground clearance and approach angle of any bumper available for our trucks. By a long shot.

This might be a bit of a stretch... It just looks like it because of the center being open I think, IDK could be wrong though. I think we can all agree the one that takes that prize is the bumper in your avatar pic

Not a stretch, look at how the AOR bumpers mount, to a 1/4" crossmember that is bolted/welded to the frame. Now look how your 4xI bumper mounts, to the thin 1/8" factory bumper mounts that extend above and below the frame. Look underneath your bumper, anything hanging below and infront of the frame is cut off for ground clearance and approach angle on an AOR bumper.

Trust me on this, my old CBI Hybrid mounts the same way your 4x bumper mounts and offroad i was constantly smashing the mounts into rocks and ledges because they stick down and out so far. Effectively being not much better than running a stock bumper in terms of clearance and approach angle. Sad but true, i didnt expect to buy two front bumpers in the last year but the way CBI and 4x bumpers mount just shows they weren't designed with trail use in mind. And the amount of trail use mine sees, i wasn't happy with the design, hopefully it works out for you being in the midwest.

Hey Nathan, can you post a better side view picture of the new Addicted plate bumper? A pic like the one of your rig with the CBI would be great. I don't think I've seen a good side profile pic of the new bumper to really get an idea of what kind of approach angle it provides. This was a big factor of why I decided to make my own bumper, just haven't seen one with the approach angle I like.

These are the best I have for the next six months while i am overseas. They arent the same angle and quite as deliberate as the sideview shot of the CBI but you can get a feeling for how high up it is.
