my 1999 T4R

I had a '99 T4R that I absolutely loved. Last August I traded her in for a 2011 T4R and there is not a day that passes that I do not miss my '99. Don't get me wrong, I love my 2011. But my '99 was special to me. Today as I was browsing craigslist I found her. It certainly brought a smile to my face seeing my beautiful red '99 again.

This was her, the day I brought her home.

And the day I traded her in. This is my '99 and 2011 T4R's.

That depends, what is the purpose of lifting? Are you going to wheel it? Camp? Speed? Dirt roads? or will it be a mall crawler?

Right now camping with possible trails in the near future. I'm in Nebraska so I'll have to travel to hit trails.

The trails you hit... Will you be trying to see how big of a rock you can drive over, or just cruising along?

The Toytec Boss kit is a nice kit. I ran it, but it wasn't able to keep up with the higher speeds I wanted to do off-road, so I upgraded to an Icon setup.

After watching a 5100 (I believe they're used in the ultimate kit) snap on a forest service road going 15mph a couple weeks ago, I'd have a hard time recommending that.

If you want to go fast over the bumpy stuff and have pretty deep pockets, check out some of the 2.5" coilovers and shocks available from Fox, Icon, SAW, King, and Radflo. All great products, but spendy as hell. Sometimes you'll find them used in the classifieds for much better prices here, or on Tacomaworld.

The way I see it, Buy it right the first time.
I went Icons as well. You'll notice a lot of guys on here do. [MENTION=75445]4Running Daily[/MENTION] [MENTION=88391]NateMob[/MENTION] and others i'm sure i'm forgetting. I have zero complaints with the icons. My only thought is that I should have gotten the rear icons as well. That's on the to-do list.
Plus, Icons kick ass overland and rock crawling. I do my fair share of both. Just Saturday I had airtime in the runner and it was soft as ever. My buddy had to tell me I had all 4 tires off the ground because I felt like I was just driving. HIGHLY recommend them and there will be some deals on them on Black Friday.

Up to the mill is just fine. It's wet with several large puddles and whatnot in the trail but nothing real bad. Once it starts climbing elevation after the mill though it gets very snow covered quickly. If you are just trying to check out the mill you'd probably be fine for another week or two but its already getting too dangerous on the shelf roads much further than that.

Lifted her today, toytech coils, 7wrap lc rears and diff drop. 285-75 bfg tires on 17x9 beadlocks. Thanks [MENTION=95069]TBuzz[/MENTION] for the coils and excellent packing job!
