Nice cold drive through the epicenter of the infamous "Slide" fire of 2007 between Big Bear and Green Valley Lake. Almost 13,000 acres and 300 residential structures destroyed and nearly took out the entire town of GVL if not for some extremely dedicated firefighters. This road just opened about 8 weeks ago since the fire.

1997 3rd gen 4Runner going out on its first voyage

here are some images of my first time four wheeling... ever... in my life, and i think this 4Runners first time really wheeling, i bought this off my dad a few years back and he had it in like 1999 so if the owner before him did wheel it then he could have only done it for a year or two. i made up my mind when i got this 3rd gen 4Runner that i wanted to be able to drive over some narly dirt roads. i put a lift on it with some OME shocks/springs, and some spacers on top of that in the back, cleaned the skid plates, cut out my front bumper and put a brush guard on it, replaced my steering rack and a bunch of other things. after all that i decided that the 4Runner was ready, so i took it out to "5mile" with a coworker and this is some of what i did.
i have more pic's if you guys what to check it out.

I see you doing big things Joe! I know when I switched over from my 3" spacer lift to the Toytec Ultimate it was a night and day difference in both on and off-road performance.

It was a blast. I thought it was pretty easy though. I could use some 35's and a higher clearance front bumper.
