My new Two-Wheeled toy! and My Baby all detailed. Got a new job at Ford, so I can wash both of my Babes! It's been a while everyone!

My 1st 4Runner....98' and Love it!
Long time Toyota owner. I bought my first pickup in 1984. Within 2 days I had installed a sliding rear window, OS tires and wheels and a 3" body lift. I've done several body lifts for the local boys in the years past but have grown old and worn and hate laying on the ground for long periods of time in my near mid-50's! So, I bought one that had enough lift and 17" wheels to make it just barely hard enough for me to grab the wheel. Here's a pic of my 1st T4R!!

Damn! Sorry for your loss. Sorry your entire family has to deal with this! Obviously, your sister had issues with this terrible world as she as an LEO has seen more than the common man and woman on the street. I know she has done some things in life to make you proud so don't let her decisions shade your thought. I know she was a good person from what little you've shared. Be proud. Peace be with you and yours.It is w/ a heavy heart that I post this. Thursday in the early hours before the sun came up, my sister took her own life outside of her 4Runner. After years of ups & downs w/ depression & alcoholism, she died at 35. I now have her 2001 4Runner 4WD. I also have a 2006 Sport 4WD that is my DD. Anyway, I've inherited this 4Runner under the most gut wrenching of circumstances. We laid her to rest today & these pics were from this morning. I'm going to repaint it & fix everything on it that needs any attention. I have not decided which route to go in the mods department. She added a 1" front spacer kit in an attempt to make it level. I'm pretty certain I'll be pulling that, going w/ some coilovers & new springs out back w/ some 32's, not sure on rim size yet... Possibly 17's or 18's. My sister was a police officer & her funeral today was 1 like you see in the movies. The color guard & the police dept as a whole went above & beyond... Which I think truly speaks to the type of individual & officer that she was. I've never been part of funeral precession w/ 30+ police Chargers leading the way & the interstate was literally shut down. Awesome & funeral aren't typically used synonymously, but today was awesome. She was treated like she was a dignitary w/ far reaching influence. I'm honored to have had her as my sister. I'm honored to have gotten this 4Runner. Sorry to dump my sad sob story on y'all... But it's not everyday that you're given a 4Runner under these circumstances. It's a burden I don't want to bare... But it's 1 that has changed my life permanently.

Thank you & she did... LE or 1st responders in general don't get the support they need from a lot of stand points, but especially the psychological aspect.

Has anyone tried retrofitting a set of LED running lights lights where the amber turn signals are? I'm very interested in doing this but would imagine it would be hard to find a light that fits perfectly. Looking for something that will act as a turn signal when engaged, but will put out enough light at night to actually make a difference.

This guy did exactly what are you are wanting to do. I really like what how he did it minus the strobe feature. You will need whats called a switchback led light but I don't know how to get the build to stay on like if you were to turn on the parking lamps. I am going to do some more research on the topic and I will let you know what I come up with.
