New to me 02 on the bottom. 4 inch lift on 31 inch duratracs. Probably leave as is for a bit, would really like to get a bumper with a rear tire carrier or maybe a roof rack in order to carry a full size spare. On top is my old 2nd Gen. Sold it 2010ish to cover some unforseen expenses. Miss her.

You won't miss the most unreliable 4runner.

Yeah, I had to replace the head gasket on it, and it was quite under powered considering the fuel consumption, but I still really liked the truck. Happy to be back in a yota for sure.

My 2001 Sport 4wd in Black & Tan, with safari rack, on the day I bought it back in May. 245k running strong, other than a malfunctioning 4wd/transfer case at the moment.
Still working on visuals, and maintenance. But LOVE it.

"northern car" syndrome on a Gen 3
I've been a taco owner for ever. My daughter has her heart set on a gen 3 T4R (2000-2002). I offered her a newer model but she likes the smaller body size of the Gen3. I have found a 2001 with 137k miles on it. I've heard good things about the 3.4l engine and this truck has a good service record so that's not a concern.
We live in SC where it hardly ever snows. The T4R I'm looking at has spent almost all of it's 137k mile in New Hampshire so I'm concerned about "northern car" syndrome. (ie exposure to the "salted roads" etc). We are going to look at the truck on Tuesday. I expect to find some rust but what should i consider as an "excessive" amount of rust on a T4R that old from that part of the country, AND
What could I do about as far as limiting it's advance going forward?
