I would go with sliders before full aftermarket skids for sure. And at the same time, a really simple and effective improvement to the stock skid set would be to run a flat piece of 3/16" plate between the transmission and gas tank crossmembers. Reason being, there is absolutely no skid plate under the transfer case and this is the breakover point of the vehicle.

Finally picked up a new daily. It will eventually get a small lift, but will stay stock for a while. '01 Limited with 123k miles. Also another picture of the toy. '85 4runner, locked front and rear with 35's.

I had been looking at them for a few years before I bought one. Now that I have it I can't believe I didn't buy it sooner. Nothing sucked more than lifting a heavy hardtop over your head every time the weather was nice.

Is that original paint? I can't get over how clean some of these are. I just got mine and even after getting it buffed etc these look cleaner! Here's my '01 Limited for 104k I just got.

These seem to have a high quality factory finish compared to anything else of that era

Mine was super chalky. Had it buffed and polished then sealed.

Coil spacers all around and 285s. I will be getting Bilstein 6112s for the front and OME 891s/bilstein 5100s for the rear soon.

funny story....I had just ordered mine from toytec paid 950 out the door for the simple bilstein kit and a few little things like the bump stops and a body lift......5 minutes later after paying I check a an app "offer up" kind of like craigslist and bam! there you go someone had posted the toytec ultimate lift kit for 890 and I contacted the guy and met up with him a few days later and got the boxes from him, when I got home I opened up all the boxes and I had a huge surprise! LIGHT RACING UCA'S!!!!! I couldn't believe it when I took them out of the box. I got the ultimate kit for 890 and a set of ucas! I also got lucky toytec was cool about canceling part of my order and not charging me the 5% cancelation fee... toytec is awesome
