New ARB bumper + retrofit + SCS F5 + KO2s + Toytec + OME lift
One of the ARB bumpers is on the short list for me. I was going to buy one with my tax refund this year, but decided to buy wheels and use the rest for responsible things. Damn being an adult!

I've never used plasti to know how well it holds up, but I did mine with Berliner before I went to a plate bumper. It held up well and looked good.

Black it all out! That's if you're anti chrome like I am. Front bumper options today I think are endless. Pick one and move on to the next mod.

My Project
Well, after 3 month of research and test drives, i found a 4runner worth fixing up. I have had her for a little over a week now and so far i have added a touch screen, Kenwood DDX24BT with backup camera for the misses. Gotta brag on it a little bit, 218,000 miles and its still going very strong. As far as i know, only things is needs is Front Breaks and Rotors and a valve cover gasket. Here is pics of it and looking forward to joining in this community.

Yea , looks good, How many cans for the 2 bumpers? Yea, I am an anti chrome, just think all black 2000s look so stellar with black bumbers. Thanks for pics

Just redid suspension and runs awesome. Had no problem going in mud and it's a 2wd. Did the tundra struts up front with 3" Rc lift kit in front and 3" rough country springs and shocks in the rear. Going too look at tires tomorrow. What size tires you think I should get? Was thinking of 265/70/17 let me know our opinions thanks

I just joined the forum after buying a '96 SR5 with 3.4 auto with locker on monday. It has just over 200k on it and is quite tight and rust free. I took the day off work and installed a basic 3" lift (strut spacer and coils/shocks in rear) and 285/70-17 a Procomp MTs on '07 Taco wheels. G2 1.25" spacers on the front. I've owned a '01 Taco doublecab so no stranger to this era of Toyota. I've also owned about 15 other Toyota pickups and a Land Cruisers including a '99 UZJ100 that I still have. It is on OME suspension and 285s and has an e-locker as well. The 4Runner is going to be used for more spirited off-roading and hauling my Jon boat to mountain lakes, as well as towing it behind my rv as a rip around rig.

Aloha RB, I just joined here as well. I did the same RC kit in mine, but will upgrade the front to Bilstein at some point. I'm running 285/75-17 on the same wheels you have (green T4R pictured above). I got the tiniest bit of rub once while reversing at full lock on my test run with the new suspension and tires tonight. I like the size of tire on mine. It looks "right".
What part of Oahu are you in?

I like you set up but kinda want a size smaller. I'm just worried about the tires locking up in the fenders while flexing. Prob gonna just go with 31s 265/70s maybe. Did you have to run a spacer to fit your tires? I noticed my 265 is close to the arm already

I have a 1.25" spacer. If I hadn't got such a killer deal on the 285s, I would have done 265/70-17s. I saw a '98 with that size and a 3" lift the other day and it looked awesome. The 285s I got were a Craigslist steal... $400 for wheels and 75% tread MTs. They should have been $1000.
I know the Haleiwa/Pupukea area a bit better than where you are but I sure love it over there. You are very lucky (as is my wife who is in the Kaimuku area right now)! We are supposed to get snow this weekend again and normally I would be enjoying some sun in my garden by this time of year. It's grim!

Yeah you got the right nice steal lol. Was going to check out whe 4x4 expo today hopefully can scoop me a set of 31's.
We jus started going to kaena point recently. I'm into fishing and there's nothing better then hitting the trail on the way to fish and hit it again on the way back. Weather here is awesome surf shorts and slippers all day lol
