I can tell you from experience that K02s are killer in the snow. I had them on my old Ranger back when I lived in Michigan.

Oh, and let me know if you ever want to part with any of that shrockworks armor! I'd take that front bumper off your hands. :biggrin1: Tired of my 265/75/16s rubbing on the bumper when I bust through snowbanks.

Where is this? Next year my father and I are taking about 4 months to do overlanding/traveling. We are hitting up KOH and going from there. If you don't want to share, I completely understand. I'll get NASA to triangulate off the mountains in the back ground and the shadows of your rig
Not at all, I live here in Green Valley Lake between Big Bear and Arrowhead and this was just one of the local trails that goes around the outskirts of town.
There's a campground at the end of the road and some nice mellow intermediate trails close by and more exciting stuff in the Crab Flats OHV area not far away.
That's awesome you're doing it with your dad - have a fantastic trip.

I've been lurking this forum for a long time, doing maintenance to my Runner. Newly registered and out in the open. Living in Alaska, this Runner really shines. I've never been stuck!
Mostly, I want to say thank you! Your collective knowledge has helped me many times in the past. I'm sure it will again.
Check it out! The Yota is looking pretty dirty these days.
This is a (mostly) bone stock 99 SR5, originally sold in BC. I picked it up with 110,000 miles, has 290,000 now.
The only aftermarket parts are the rims, and 265/75/16 10 ply tires. That was done by a previous owner.
I have done:
Timing belt
Water pump / thermostat / hoses
Idler pulleys
Oil changes
Air filter
MAF sensor
Roof rack install
Trailer hitch install
Took it to a professional for:
Rebuilt injectors
It needs plenty more work, you haven't heard the last from me.

My goal is to get rid of the '99 underbite front bumper. Why are the main blinkers on the vehicle mounted down there??? I'd like to find a '96 or '97 bumper with the blinkers mounted higher up, so I can remove the whole lower grey section of the bumper. These tires rub when I bottom out while turning. So...
No more running boards. Sure looks better. Partially solved the tire clearance issue.
The OTHER Toyota factory color: Dirt brown.

On my last 4Runner I had the Tundra 17" split spoke wheels and really loved those but this time decided to simplify things focus on other mods and just keep the stock rims I actually was inspired by [MENTION=47945]brian2sun[/MENTION] 's 4Runner, I always liked the way the stock rims looked on his rig, he has a nice build thread that is worth taking a look at.
I am running Sipdertrax 1.25 inch spacers all around and BFG ko2's in 285/75/16 with SPC upper control arms currently in the "G" setting but still rubbing at full lock so a body lift or more alignments are in my near future.
Suspension currently is Tundra 5100's all around with Toytec Eibach springs up front and OME 890's in the back.
I am contemplating Plastidipping the stock wheels bronze/gold? :shrug:

Hello everyone,
Just introducing Purple Rain, my 2001 4Runner with 250k miles, that I picked up about 4 years ago. Raising two boys, finishing up school, and working full time certainly limited my time in modding/building my dream 4Runner. Happy to report that I'm done with school (for now) and will be dedicating some time to fixing up Purple Rain.
The most recent addition was getting her a new set of shoes. After perusing this forum, I went with the Michelin Defenders.
Glad to be part of this community! :yo:
