So this is a picture of a picture of a 3rd Gen, so it sorta counts. This was on the wall behind my local Toyota parts counter, it made me chuckle...

Thanks dude, how do your duratracs work for you? Was thinking about getting some but were outta my price range as of now. Whats your opinion on getting a lift kit from SRQ Fabrications?

I like the duratracs pretty fair, but to be honest I only get sand and rocks, no moisture here.
I haven't checked out SRQ's selection, but I think the cheap way to go for a decent lift is bilstein 5100's in front and LC80 rear shocks. You can keep the stock front shocks and get your flavor of rear shocks. I have OME rear shocks and they're pretty stiff, but I'm okay with that.

Just purchased this 2000 4Runner SR5 V6. My first one. It's got a little steering wheel play, but drives straight and smooth. Some creaking when you turn the wheel while sitting still. Brought it into a shop today, and they put it up on a rack. The rack is leaking power steering fluid onto the bushing beneath it. Some other items smaller suspension pieces need replaced also, but the rack and pinion is the biggest expense. Also the Air cleaner intake hose pipe tube is shot, so I ordered one off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GE1YT14/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The rear window needs repair, it only goes down parkways until it stops, and sounds like it is grinding on something right before it stops. Is there a special tool needed to remove the panel on the rear hatch to access the window?
The floor shifter (auto) is slightly loose. How difficult a job is it to tighten this?Looks like removing the plastic console.
CD player in factory stereo doesn't work.
Should there be lighting behind the a/c controls when the lights are on (at night)? Some controls are not lit up while lights are on, ECT, a/c
Is there a way to increase brightness of dashboard display? Brighter bulb? that shows speedo, tach, fuel, temp
What differences are there in the TRD? Is it an option? Different parts?
Any help or recommendations are appreciated! Thank you in advance

I have gone through some writeups, and it doesn't look too bad. You'll have to remove the bezel, shifter, and replace some plastic bushings. This job is on my "eventually I'll get to it" list.
Most of them don't anymore. Mine skipped terribly over the slightest bump. I replaced it with a Pioneer double DIN bluetooth unit for around $100. It sounds way better, and I just Bluetooth music from my phone instead of using discs.
Yes, there should. It is common for the bulbs to go out. There are numerous write ups on the subject.
Have you tried the dimmer dial to the left of the steering wheel?
There wasn't a TRD 3rd gen 4Runner. The sticker is aftermarket. The only off-road specific factory option I know of was the rear diff locker, which would be indicated by the RR DIFF LOCK button to the left of the steering wheel.

I'm better with questions, :dizzy:
But all of the running gear was out of an 80s truck that got an upgrade to ton's and an atlas.
Most of the SAS parts are TG, adapters are Marlin to the Auto trans into dual cases.
Frame stiffeners with steering box mounts, tapped box from a first gen, hydro assist w/ TG pump.
I have an exhaust crossover I didn't use. I was able to get the exhaust and the driveline down the same side.
I tied the frame together with a TG bumper mount so I'm probably stuck running one of their bumpers.
I know all of that seems pretty vague I know. any questions I can answer?
I also completely gutted the ABS system, and added a proportioning valve to the rear brakes, (GM Rear Disc)
also added an electronic speed sensor and spliced into the cluster to get a speedo back, I'm off about 10% right now. But my torque app is corrected, but digital Dakota builds a control box to correct it.
that may be a little all over the place.
