My 99 SR5 Sport V6 4x4. Have had it since 03. 171k. It’s stock, has been really reliable, and has shit paint.
It’s a family heirloom. My 42 yr old son wants it and my 8 year old granddaughter wants it too when she turns 16.

Exercising the suspension a little. Northwest Overland Rally "trophy challenge". Fun little timed challenge through a portion of the technical course they set up. Also had to shoot a targets with a nerf gun along the way, 2 on each side, got the 2 easy ones on the drivers side. Good times.

New owner of a bone stock '96 Base. 3RZ, 5 speed. This is a stripped model. Only possible options I can see is AC (did they all have AC?). Even the wheels are 15's. It's perfect for me though. The lack of rust on this 27 y/o vehicle is crazy to me. It's been in Colorado it's entire life.
Looking to give it a good cleaning, it needs new tires and it has a rough idle. I drove it 2700 miles home without a problem though. Miles are high and unknown but in the sub 300K range I'm sure. Looks like ball joints are recent, fuel filter too. No leaks anywhere including around the valve cover. It needs a standard tune up, cap, plugs, rotor and wires (yes this is an early one with old school dizzy) Not sure the last time the valves have been adjusted but I'll probably pay someone to do that. Hoping that's the source of the rough idle.
What else should I be looking at?

Making it road worthy for your use short term long term what the plan. Hi-milage items checked replaced like any other 4Runner.

New to the forum but it’s already been a ton of help. Picked this guy up this summer. 1997 v6 5 speed with locker and only 70k miles. Been baselining and catching up on maintenance. Last weekend I replaced the spacer lift with OME and TC UCAs. More to come.
