3rd gen wheel on 4th gen issues

So I got tired of reading through countless posts to end up with the same conclusion of people putting 4th gen wheels on their 3rd gen truck. I want to do the opposite but ran into some issues.

I of course was stupid and assumed that the wheels should just bolt on since the newer 4runner didn't seem to have bigger brakes. I was wrong.

This is the spacing on the stock rim....

The rims I want to put on but seem to hit the caliper pretty harshly

I used 1/4 inch thick lock washers as a temp solution to get home and will be picking up 1/4 inch spacers from the local Lordco. The only difference I can see between the rims is the spokes are quite a bit thicker on the older rim.

Can anyone else tell me if they used the older rims on a stock tire size with anything other then 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch bolt on spacers.

I had thought about getting a Tundra rim next year to replace the tires once and for all. I really like this one but I am now nervous about what spacing they used

bump....

Can anyone tell me if they have swapped these wheels onto their sr5 4th gen 4runner and what they did to fix the brake clearance issue?
