Hey guys I went mudding two weekends ago and over heated on the way home and cracked the radiator. We replaced the radiator, thermostat, all the belts and still nothing. We have spark, fuel, air & compression. Nothing sticks, it cranks but doesn't turn all the way over. Any suggestions please?

don't know without looking at, but three things come to mind after mudding.

1. AFM sensor having mud, water or debris on it

2. A vaccuum leak or senseor un plugged somewhere after service

3. A stored code that is prohibiting the engine from starting

Redswan, checked all the sensors those are fine. AMF looked damn near brand new, thought about looking at the valves today and seeing if their all in synch and not just pushing fuel to a closed valve?

Could you please elaborate on the bolded sentence as to what exactly you did to confirm each of these? I don't want to suggest you repeat something you already did. After all, if you did have all 4, in time, engine would kick over.

figured it out, the dick head who replaced my head gaskets didnt tighten down the cam shafts so it broke the cam shaft itself. Anyone know where i can buy new cam shafts for a 98 Toyota Four runner SR5 3.4L V6?

How do you know that he didn't tighten it down or that's what broke it?

You can find one at a junk yard cheap

There are 4 cams on there. Did they all break? This link should show you the prices for all 4 if you wanna go OEM.

A busted camshaft could've messed up some other stuff in the motor so you might want to check everything out before you put it all back together.

Just checked the two on passenger side, the outer one was cracked.Thinking about trying to find a new motor. Know any places? Or even anyone parting out a 3.4L yota engina?

How much are you trying to spend on the motor? Refurbished or used? I'd probably replace the motor too if I was in your situation. I'd be worried about the quality of the rest of the work if a cam broke after a head gasket replacement.

Check your local Craigslist and the classifieds section of this forum. There's always someone parting out a rolled/wrecked 4Runner. I think you have to get a 96-98 motor as 99+ changed some electronics around.
