I thought about all you guys here with your 4Runners and what kind of setups you may have. Now there is a ton of info on mechanical but how about what kind of custom interior work you may have done.

So the purpose of this thread is to show off your interior including any nice custom work you may have done with you audio setup.

Now I have just purchased my T4R but my audio from my old car is going in on Wednesday and I know it will be quite creative........look forward to see what's out there!

So attach your pics and lets compliment and criticise!!!!!!!

here's something that is pretty common i guess. i'm a LED-freak so don't mind me =).

reverse white guages, panasonic head unit, LED neon tube with multi color control, 2 blue LED below the headunit, and hyper white LED in CC and shift boot.

an LED mod i did. consist of LED bulb plus 2 LED for the dome light. it's not very bright that i thought it would be due to the clear cover. i'll soon to replace that cover with a clear vinyl or more LEDs so it would be brighter inside my car.

lastly, my Alpine Type-R subs. it could push 600w. i didn't really want a really loud sub where it will be pounding or anything. i just need bass for the enjoyment of music. sorry for the blurry pictures. i didn't have my tripod with me.

also, i plan to paint my dash to silver and everything else to black. so my theme would be black and silver. i hope to work on it soon since it's summer. i also plan fiber glass a screen into my sun visor with a help from a friend of mine. he installed a computer into his accord which he could help me with this screen-visor. so i'll create a worklog whenever i'm ready.

i have a modified computer case with Uv lights everywhere and id like to do something int he car lol

well, i listed all the lights i have in my interior. but my LED neon tube which is the light under the seat is a 12v cigerette plug. then, 2 blue LED is connected from the dash. shift knob and CC is directly from my corner lights in the exterior. at first i plan to put some LEDs in the vents but that would distract alot of drivers outside plus people might jack my car. other than that, i don't really have any other place to put some LEDs in my car besides my dome light and map light. i'll mod those soon.

How does your sub sound in that position. I noticed you are the second guy in this thread including the one with Kenwoods, to put them right against the back seat. It leaves a lot of air between the sub and the trunk door.

Does is sound punchy and accurate? Have you fooled around with positions (woofer locations in case your mind is in the gutter)?

Just curious because I'm doing my install on Wednesday and it will be face up to the right and near the back.

NIKO...who's installing the audio stuff for you?

I used to own an custom 89 mustang. I dumped a lot of money into it including a competion stereo. It won Best SQ. That was all done at Kromer Radio on Bathurst, but I'm not going back there. Nothing to do with service but it's like Yorkville pricing.

The work will all be done at EHR (East Hamilton Radio). I've seen a lot of custom work there and it is solid. Since I have all the eqpuipment and just need install, Kromer got a little to pricey for me. I went over there for an estimate and they quoted me 8 hrs minimum plus $200 per door for Dynamat.

Well at EHR, I pay $160 for a pair of doors with Dynamat and got quoted 5 hrs labour regardless if they go over or not. It will be a more basic install for now but have already drawn up a sketch with them for a custom trunk to house sub/amps and still have a trunk. It will actually be a really cool setup when completed and look forward to setting up.

Other than that, the car will sound mint in a few days!

Actually, I'm always looking for some good install shops.

If you where in the East-end, I would have suggested Safe and Sound. Those guys are one of the best in my opinion.

I've heard many good things from EH. Can't wait to see the install pics.

My subs are in a sealed box so they are pretty accurate.. however at lower ferquencies they seem to sound a little "boingy" if you know what i mean...lol... i had them turned around, facing the seats, they sounded a little tighter but not as loud, also i would suggest dynamatting the rear door and side panels as well, my t4r rattled quite a bit, dont know about ya'lls though

well, i tested it by pulling down the back seat and facing the subs forward. i did not feel any bass and i could hardly HEAR the bass also. i'm not sure why. but if you face it backwards, the sound will bounces from the trunk door back to the front seat. so for sure, the subs MUST be facing backwards which the sound will bounce back, OR have the subs drill down into the chassis or somehow into the wall so you could FEEL the bass. some people fiberglass the subs into the wall.

but for my position, i could HEAR the bass very clearly. very nice and crisp. even though it doesn't vibrate as much, which i didn't want to, it SOUNDS great. i did noticed when i didn't drill down the subs down, the subs would run everywhere. when i opened the trunk door, the subs was facing to the passenger tail light. you could actually tell that the subs isn't centered. i thought the subs was actually on the left side. but it was actually on the right. but for how i kept the subs from running around is i bought these door hinges, i just drilled it into the backseat. and then, i used a keyring to lock it which it looks like hoodpins. i'm so silly. LOL. but it sounds great to me. hope I explain it clearly. if not, i'm sorry, i'm foreign.
