Unfortunately the headers for this application are all expensive--$500 is actually on the low end. That IS the best way to eliminate the crossover, though, because it not only gets rid of the hot spot around the head that is the main contributor to head gasket failure, it is also the best route to gaining power on that engine. Without headers, none of the other mods (intakes, computer upgrades, etc.) can come close to their optimum gains. An engine is, after all, an air pump, and if the air can't get out quickly, you can't get more to go in it. Northwest Offroad and Rocky-Road Outfitters are a couple sources for headers off the top of my head. Best of luck!
