As for the "butt dyno", I wouldn't be a good person to go spouting out numbers. Just to throw one out there, how about 15 hp... I know everybody likes numbers, but I'd like to reiterate that it really feels and sounds good. After installing the CAI, I'd honestly say I didn't notice any HP increase, but only noise. With this mod, I can feel a HP increase and a smoother, more spread out CAI rumble. If somebody wants to swing by south eastern VA for a test drive, you're more than welcome.
As for my previous opinionated statements, I still stand behind them just the same. And it's been about 2000 miles since the install, with no negative issues -- and I don't expect any either.

4runner v6 Headers
Just wanted to say thank you to hpk - you really know your stuff, without your posts I probably would not have put the jba headers in my 4runner. Anyways I had them installed last week and I am very happy with the results...pics are coming soon

Excellent post, write up and review. Def. the next mod for 08 for me. Have you reset your computer by taking the battery terminal off? I just cleaned my maf and it seems to have smoother shifting points (maybe the ecu is just holding each gear longer 
)
Having your truck re-learn your driving styles might maximize performance a little bit more.
The stock headers were like stamped (crap) steel. Mine are all rusted and I know it's going to be a PITA and $$$ for whoever does the job.
P.S. if you tack weld the cat to the headers, are there any clearance issues we should be woried about?

To answer your question about the tack welding, you have to tack weld the cat to the collector while installed, of course. That's the easy part. When I took my ride to be completely welded, the mechanic said he was going to have a hard time due to the space limitations between that joint and the surrounding engine, brackets, etc. It may be possible to weld in place, but not with typical welding equipment and some patience.
Other than post-welding clearance issues, there are no problems with fitment at all. These headers have the same piping bends, but with a slightly larger diameter piping and Toyota designed plenty of room around the stock headers.
The only problem I have had is the transmission dipstick. It's still flopping around under the hood...guess I should take a look at that one of these days - out of sight out of mind right? haha.
