4.10 gears for towing? v8 4wd

Like it says in my bio below, I have a 2005 v8 sport 4x4 and after I lifted and put 285's on it it feels a little sluggish towing my camper (3500 lbs).
My question is what would be the best gear ratio for towing while still maintaining decent RPM? I believe the v8's come with 3.73's stock. Should i go with a 4.10 or something even more aggressive? I'm planning on swapping in an FJ cruiser front diff and electronics from rock solid toys to get true 4wd/2wd so I might as well go a little further and get the gears I really want.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

4.30s or 4.56 would be good

I agree. I'd go with either 4.30's or 4.56's. I'd go 4.56 if you plan to tow a lot.

I have the same setup with tire size and Im pulling roughly the same size camper.
I am going to re-gear soon but Im debating between 4.30 and 4.56. Im going to continue towing in 4th gear and want to run about 70 while towing. Im not sure if I should go down to 4.56 or not. Have you done your swap yet?

I haven't ran the numbers, so im not sure what it would call for..

that said, the only real concern between those 2 ratios would be fuel mileage. the engine itself can run at those higher rpms all day long without issue. but, with that trailer at 70mph in 4th, the mileage will be low anyway, you might as well have the additional pull the 4.56's give you.

if you ever plan to go with bigger tires, pick the lower ratio for sure.

Thanks, I have been reading an older post on Expedition Portal also and the big question was rather go with 4.56 or 4.88. The OP over there ended up going with 4.88 and is super happy running 255s I believe, but he is also pulling a 7000 lb camper. Im really leaning towards the 4.56 and adding an ARB to the rear during the process. Thanks for the input, its much appreciated.
