4.7 Engine question

Is the v8 engine in the 4runner built and assembled in Japan?
I know these engines in the tundra are built is the USA.

Yes, the 2UZ in the 4Runners are made in Tahara, Aiichi, Japan.

I don't think that the Tundra 4.7's are built here either... at least my 2002 wasn't. The engine was shipped here and installed in Princeton.

I think that's where Toyota's port is for the Mid-West region. Mine is located Newark, NJ. Port is where the vehicles come in for customs release or installation of options not installed at the dealership.
