4.7L slow crank and flooding issue.

So my wife tried to start her t4r the other day and it cranked slow so she asked me to jump it. I did and there was no change so i thought bad battery and switched it with a known good one. No change. So i thought to myself it's either corrosion on a wire or the starter is taking a shit. So i pull the intake manifold and put a towel in each of the ports and go to switching out to a new starter. After i got the new starter in i was pulling the towels out of the ports and noticed that all but 2 of the 8 ports to the heads had about 2 inches of fuel in them.
Well i sucked up all the fuel i possibly could and put it back together. Obviously it still cranked slow because the problem isn't the starter. I next pulled all the plugs and cranked it to help evacuate any fuel from the cylinders and to check for spark. Spark was good and the cylinders were wet with fuel. The cranking seemed a bit better but still sounded off to me.
Hptuners scanner didn't pull up any codes. I'll get my buddies Autel and check with it tomorrow.
I'm kinda out of ideas on what to check next. Any thoughts?

Could be leaky fuel injectors. When you start it next, press the gas pedal to the floor before cranking. It will help clear the cylinders. It tells the ecu to not give fuel. Once it fires, pump the gas to stabilize the idle.

Id say you have bad injectors. I had the same thing on a lexus.

Very possible that it has bad injectors but 2 inches of fuel in the heads is a lot. Thanks for the tip, i'll try the gas pedal tip tomorrow after work tomorrow.

Could be crank or cam position sensor. You say you have spark? If so then it must be at the wrong time.

Well, it backfired through the intake and blew the plastics to pieces.

And you are sure its not coolant from a head gasket? I cant imagine how that much fuel can fill the cyl.

When a carbureted engine is out of time it will backfire through the intake, had it happen many times. 4runners not carbed but your issue sounds similar.
It's spark timing were talking about though.
