did you get the car fax ? It will let you know a good bit about past service records.
You've got some stuff to check, belts for sure. When I purchased my 2001 about 3 years ago it still had the factory belts on it.
buy Gates belts.
My 2001 SR5 4wd has 185k and was made in Japan, I got the car fax and found out I purchased it from the 2nd owner and It was well serviced. :thumbsup:
