I pulled a 6,000 lb trailer all over creation yesterday. Due to foul weather, I dropped the trailer off at a mate's house and then went home. I went back this morning to retrieve the trailer and then I dropped it off to get unloaded. The truck sat for about an hour and when I left to return the empty trailer, the four traction lights on my dash came on along with the (!) BRAKE light. I think the lights were VSC OFF, another VSC light, the car with the peel out marks, and the ABS light.
The truck drove fine and I ensured the brake wasn't engaged. While dropping the trailer off the truck was stopped and off for about 10 minutes. But after starting back up again the lights were still there. I drove another 30 minutes and the truck was off and parked for about an hour. After starting it up then the lights didn't come back on. But on the drive home the ABS would kick in briefly every time I hit the brakes. Also when braking to turn into my driveway the speedometer stayed at like 25 MPH despite coming to a crawl.
It was parked for about 4 or 5 hours and I just took it out again and everything is working fine. No lights, ABS is working, speedo is working. Additionally, the TPMS light that's been on since I bought it is also off now. Nothing seems to be wrong with the truck. Is this something I need to investigate further?
