Hi, I have a 91 4runner and had a question regarding my 4 wheel drive. I recently got my 4runner lifted and now every time I engage the 4 wheel drive, the indicator light clicks on and off then just turns off. I checked the vacuums lines and wiring and everything looks ok. I followed the vacuum lines to the actuator and relay (I think) on the passenger side fender and I unplugged them to see what would happen. If I left the brown plug in and kept the black plug off, the 4 wheel drive engages and everything seems to work fine. Any other variation of plugging did not work. What is the purpose of that black plug and should I even be unplugging that? I drove it around engaged in the 4 wheels for a few miles and everything was fine. I wonder if this will lead to problems and if I should even be doing that. Other than the basics, I don't know much about how the components work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
