Ok for everyone who has more know how on this conversion of the tacoma front end on a 4rn I need your help atleast trying to figure out how do you determine what year model tacoma to use with the year of 4runner you have or does it really matter and where is a good website to get these tacoma parts:sniper:

I believe no one replied to this thread because it has been covered before, rather recently.

It should not matter which year you get the parts from, I don't think, however the later models (01-04) are more desirable as they got a few upgrades i.e. lights and grills.

Yea I saw this yesterday and thats what had me interested in doing it but no one ever mentioned if certain year models had to go with each other. I would def. like to use the later models perferably the 01 tacoma since my runner is a 01 but I just wanted to make sure, thanks for any input
 
I don't know if I've ever seen anyone do one with a '00 or earlier model. I think the 01-04's are the most unlike the 4Runner front end, which is why people end up using those years. It ends up standing out the most.
 
Sometimes even common questions don't get replies in less than 2 hours. Sometimes you gotta give it a day or 2. Maybe more for a less common mod.

This is exactly what i thought at first.

But just out of curiosity does the radiator support have to changed or are they similar enough to work?
 
The Taco front end does look pretty sweet on the T4R. I know the specific year wasn't covered in the other threads IIRC.

I actually like the stock Taco bumper....almost did that on mine when I replaced my smashed 4Runner bumper. The deal fell through...the girl I was supposed to get it from...turned out to be a real flake, and kept me waiting too long!

I agree, and I don't think it is just the bumper. I think it's that it's as plain as it gets (no bumper, no roof rack, no lights, not nothing), but it's SAS'd with long travel suspension and about 5in lift.

and those ridiculous wheels and aggressive low profile tires, its like a hybrid racer for offroad lol

From everything I have read, you have to change out the radiator support to the Taco radiator support b/c the fenders and hood sit a littile lower than the 4runners stock hood and fenders. I'm no where the expert on this so don't qoute me but hopefully I will be when I get back and try this mod on mine.
