4lo and Diff lock turned on without switch?

Twice now, I have been in my 4R with it in 2wd and itll be driving fine with no problems but then Ill look down after a mile or two, and the 4lo indicator will be on. Engine RPMs werent high enough for it to be in low range and I dont think it was driving in 4wd either.

The first time I fixed it, I was in a parking lot and just turned the knob from 2wd to 4wd and back and it was fine. The second time, I tried the same thing but it then started flashing the CDL indicator as well. At this point, I thought I was back in my VW with a Christmas tree dash...

In the end I was able to pretty easily get the 4R back into normal 2wd, but I dont know what to think. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else heard of this or had it happen them? I dont want to be on the highway doing 70 mph and all of a sudden RPMs shoot up and have serious issues/get into an accident because it put itself in 4lo...

[MENTION=109636]FoxNJ[/MENTION] Sorry for late response on this but I figured this might help. My 4-LO started engaging on it's own and turned out to be a fried ECU.. Now not sure it would be a fix for your issue but I figured it couldn't hurt for you to get a heads up. Seems it could possibly be same problem with yours. The V8s are full time 4WD so when mine did it it went straight to 4-LO and completely grenaded my T case. Turned out my ECU was fried from T case actuator sticking.

Well, I know my actuator isn't sticking. It engages 2wd, 4hi, 4lo and the CDL with zero issues (I think). 2wd-->4wd engages in seconds if Im moving and vice versa. If Im not moving, I can engage/disengage just as easily by turning the switch and then shifting the transmission into neutral. Ive found that it takes a looong time to engage/disengage 4wd if Im not moving and don't shift into neutral. Hopefully someone can chime in and tell me if this is normal.
