4Lo clunky shifts

For some reason I noticed the tranny shifts when the transfer case is in 4Lo are much clunkier than I recall. It has been a few months since I have used 4Lo and with my current(new) AT tires I feel & hear a lot more than I did with my MT' tires. Anyone have any suggestion as to what to check?

I will assume what you are feeling is the tremendous amount of gear reduction at each shift point when in 4LO. It's like driving down the road at 60 MPH in 4th gear at 2000 RPM and downshifting into 3rd gear as your tach is pegged at 4000 RPM.

The gear reduction is a given. But the clunk is more pronounced than I recall. It might be normal, but thought I would throw it out there just incase.

I'll suggest it's just heightened awareness with the new tires and nothing really new to concern yourself about.
