4R to pass down

Picked this up today. Going to be daily driver for the next few years and then hopefully passed down to one of my kids. (they are young)
'01 w/214,404 miles. Rig is in really good condition from what I can tell, runs well, feels strong. Waiting for a dry day to start on timing belt and water pump and will start it on rotella. The only real plans I have for this thing is maybe some bilstein 5100s after these get mushy and when the auto trans goes out doing a manual swap.

cool, my dad bought mine in 2002 and gave it to me a couple years ago. do them a favor and use OEM parts for the important stuff, and anything that you buy at auto zone save the receipts.

Well my daughter is 7 and son is 3. So, I have plenty of time, but yes I had planned on that along with Toyota scheduled maintenance.

Just hit 217xxx. Still runs great. Trying really hard to decide on lift..I am stuck between bilstein 5100s w/OME springs or a OME complete setup.

I am thinking about 881 in the front and back will be 891. I am not sure if I will ever add and bumpers, armor, etc.. but I do haul camping, hunting and fishing gear with a dog and the family often. Also, in the winter I usually have a 4wheeler, SxS or small boat hooked up.

I have read where people say the 891's are fine without a load. Also, I was thinking of a panhard bar or just the relocating bracket.
Once these tires get used I will go with a 285.

What do most guys use brand wise for roof racks?

Met a Toyota master mechanic who will do all my maintenance work for me using Toyota parts at the price he gets them.
