4runner Convertible Mode!!!

i had always heard of the 4runner's "convertible mode" but now l finally tried it myself!!! (anyone ever try this before?)

CONVERTIBLE MODE:
1. Open all side/passenger windows
2. Open the rear window
3. Bust open that moonroof (I can almost KISS myself for waiting for a model with a moonroof)

OPTIONAL:
4. Cruise towards Manhattan Beach on a beautiful evening
5. PURE BLISS =)

My dad tried doing this himself on his SUV but alas the non-4runner can't have rear window open - and belive me it makes ALL the diference

Much better done in Summer than this cold weather we're having now...but yeah, crusising the PCH with the windows open, the surfboard on the roof, the sun settting (or rising)...priceless!
 
Concur

Yep, one of the benefits of the rear opring window I immediately noticed during test drives way back in the summer when I was shopping.
 
I like the flow I get by raising up the rear of the moon roof and cracking the back window. Not a lot of noise, but good air flow.

Must be tough... certainly beats the 20s we have had the last few days in the Mid-Atalantic. High of 36 today! :mad:

I used to live there. I didn't live there then, but a friend of mine did, he went to TOHS. He told stories of building snow men on the high school football field.
 
you guys should come on down here to st. croix, cold day is low 70s. doesnt get much colder than that, maybe really really cold is high 60s

Hey curtis, I got my 4runner at Manhattan Beach Toyota (and as I see from your pictures so did you!) How was you experience? Have you had any work done from their service dept? I'm thinking of going in for for my head unit thats acting up.

Oh and nice black wheels there! (my future planned mod)

Experience was generally good. Have not had any service from them yet, I'll be going in for my free yearly oil change from them soon....I live about a 5-10 minute walk from them.

Thanks about the wheels....I like them a lot too.

yeah I know what you mean. I got back from a 3 week vacation in the Philippines. Mid 70's the entire time there. Now I'm freezing my keester off :(
 
I work at UCLA....weather.com says it is 74 degrees at 4:20pm.

Will get down to 59 degrees tonight.......brrrrrr. :)

Yes... cruise I mean bumper to bumper down PCH....bumper to bumper.....stop and smell the exhaust from the cars all around you. Look for an open parking spot in the over crowded beach front parking lots.....chekc out ghe girls with bodacious bumpers in their thong T backs.....almost hit the big guy in front of you..yes, the guy riding his harley with a leatrher jacket with a picture of a skull and wings and the words "H-E-L-L-S- A-N-G-.." NEver mind. Sorry Mister. hahahaha, must have been my stupidity...hahahahahaha...all my fault......maybe breakfast at "Cappys"....niuce food, right on the seashore.......but you had to get a seat next to some loud surf punks.......OK, pay the bill. bumper to bumper to find a parking spot....just had to be next to some punk ass kid booming some ghetto rap so loud his whole car shakes along with your windshield.....Hey, it's Fourth of July, there has to be something happening here......WHHHOOOSH Bang! Well there you have it. the Annual Fourth of July Huntington Beach Riot! Whhhhooooosh Bang. PPPPSSSSSS. what is that white smoke coming of the can........(hack hack hack hack) Hey, it's tear gas.......PULL OVER AND GET OUT OF THE CAR....why officerr what did I do? SHUT UP AND GET OUT WITH YORU HANDS UP! But I was jsut passing throuhg in my convertable mode????? BAng. Was that a rock thrown by some surf punk that hit your head splitting your scalp and causing massive bleeding? BANG! Anotehr rock hits yoru beloved 4Runner........WHAM! Someone has thrown a trahscan on fire through your open window and now your beloved 4Runner is albaze......

Just another day in paradise.....
