4runner cut off

I need some help. Yesterday I was driving along in pretty heavy traffic. I came to this pretty steep hill with a traffic light on top so I had to stop. I was creeping up and and then suddenly the gas would not work. The AC was still on and the radio was still running. I looked down at the dash and alot of the signals were litup. I eventually had to turn the car off and then restart it. After this everything worked fine. It did not mess up at all today.

I had plenty of gas.

What could have gone wrong or what is going wrong?

i second the question! that just happened to me last week, except no lights came up on the dash. i was in a parking lot creeping up to a road bump and then the gas ... ditto as above. any1 can answer this question?

Most of the time when these 4Runners engine's die, its due to build up in the IAC valve, throttle body, and/or MAF sensor. Search of a write up on here or yotatech of how to clean these things and that will hopefully solve your problem.

Ok. I'll look into those things.

The 4runner has done fine since. I did take it to get some service and they said the battery was low and needed to be replaced. Could this have caused the problem?
