Hi all,

1st post here and I'm trying to get an idea of what I should offer for a 08 4runner with an MSRP of $36,415.

When I purchased my Duramax truck in 2003 it retailed new for $44,000 and I offered $36,000 plus tax, title, etc. and the dealer accepted my offer.

What are others paying for 4runners right now?

Sounds like a Sport Edition. I had a sticker of almost exactly that. I got the guy down to 31.5k BEFORE TAX. I got him down to that price via the phone, before I even stepped onto their lot.

My Sport had an MSRP of about $38K, paid $32,700 after tax/license.

i too have an 02 duramax that listed for close to 43k new back then and bought it for right around 36k...besides the price of diesel, i love the truck.

You should be looking to knock off between 5K and 6K off the sticker price. Go to Edmunds.com and you'll get good info. on how much others are paying and what you should be paying. Also read what people have to say. Lots of good info.

Yes, go to Edmunds or KBB and find out what invoice price is shown as. You should be able to get that price before any rebates or incentives. A cash rebate just takes the price down even more.

I just bought my 2008 SR5 with running boards/sunroof 2 weeks ago with a sticker price of 33500. With my trade in and 2500 cash i am fiancing just above 19K for 6 years. They want to deal so bad because there not selling SUV's because of gas prices. If you dont get the deal at one place keep shopping you will. Oh btw they gave me about 12K for my car which was a 2002 honda accord EX with about 5K. So they want to make deals.

This wont help But My 05 Was listed at 31k and I offered 22 cash out the door and got it...So to me it was a great deal got 34000 miles now !!

Can't say what's happening now but a year ago 15% OFF msrp was a pretty good bet. I saw a few deals as much as $500-$800 lower.

But then there was a rebate running at that time. I would think that now with the gas prices and how the SUV's in general are out of favor, it should be a good time.

1% below invoice before rebates and allowances.

MSRP is just a number, you should find out what the invoice on the truck is and go from there.
