dang! i mess around on the beach all the time - scary how easy that looked. i wonder if he/she had the center diff locked and, therefore, the vsc was disengaged.

been there done that

Ive done that in a trans am, it has more to do with the stupidity of the driver than the CG....

yes, I was once stupid........probly still am:arrow:

came across this movie of someone having fun on the beach, thought i would share since it is a 4Runner.

4runner flip

just curious,

what kinda damage would it have as the result of that flip? how much it would've costed the owner to fix it? i don't think the damage is severe enough to 'total' it?

Do that on the beach here on Hatteras, and the park rangers will be called and you will be given a 300.00 ticket. And if I see you do it I will be the 1st to call. We are fighting to keep the beach open and some lame yahoo, gets the right taken away from us all.
Don't believe me google OBPA and read the story.

Why would anyone drive so close to the water anyways, that salt water is going to fcuk up everything.

Maybe he knew he was going to flip it, so whats the difference???

but ya, word on what you said.

any vehicle is capable of the same result if driven in the same conditions. this includes the 4th gen.

as for damages... I'm suspecting the vehicle automatically becomes salvage due to the cabin structure getting damaged. Repair costs? probably an arm and a leg and then some.

my thoughts on the video... why on earth would you do that to begin with? Get a RC car and do it to that but not a vehicle... must thin gene pool for these reasons.

He had it coming I guess... but I didn't really see the tires dig into the sand?

The sand is a totaly diffrent surface then anything else. The tires dont have to dig into the sand to flip. The guy was a retard for trying to drift an SUV in the sand. Ive driven my Tacoma like that at Pismo Beach, but just in a straight line, i wasnt trying to do a slalom track in the wet sand.

I bet he/she was being stupid for the camera and trying to look cool and it flipped....which I sort of did the same thing when I was around 20 yrs. old my friend had a grass field across from his house and we were comming home and I thought it would be cool to ride into the grass and hit the brakes and fishtail the truck(my first Toyota 4X4 pickup) instead it went sideways and we came real close to flipping it.

Needless to say that was the last time I tried that.:awais:

I am sure the driver was abusing the rig like that because mommy/daddy bought it for them. If they had to pay the note, I am sure you wouldn't see idiot driving like that.

Heck, I had to look at the other pictures.
