4Runner FNG

Hello everyone. My name is Chris. I am new here, and a new third gen 4runner owner. I had written up an intro once, and then somehow deleted it while trying to add photos of my 4runner so I feel like this might be wrote up with slightly less effort than the first attempt.

About myself, My family and I recently moved to Atchison KS, from Tucson Arizona when I accepted a job as a correctional officer, across the river and north a bit, in St Joseph MO. I have done two tours overseas, and those two tours are what led me to finding a passion for public service (and tax payers providing my paycheck). I dont plan on staying as a correctional officer, as I would like to be a real cop in the next few years (thats a prison joke). I am married and have three little girls, the newest was born on Feb 23.

Our (technically) 4runner is an 02' SR5 sport in black. The chassis has 201K miles on it, and the engine only about 135k. This is due to an catastrophic engine failure at 127K miles on the original engine (kind of young for a Yota to die). We bought the runner from its original owners, who paid the 34k for it back in 02'. The entire vehicle is super clean, and drives like new. The couple we bought it from actually gave us all their documentation of all major services back to the engine swap, and some even date back as far as 05'.

Our 4runner is incredibly clean, (for now) and in time I hope to take our daily driver, and turn it into combination weekend warrior as well. I look forward to meeting and interacting with everyone, and I cant wait to really take all the knowledge the community has to offer, as well as ideas into consideration while building it.

It will likely be a long and slow road as three daughters aren't cheap, but I cant wait to get started.

Nice clean looking rig! You lucked out with the timing and available thing. I was searching long and hard for mines and had little to choose from when we finally bought ours.
I'm sure you will like it here. Lots of knowledgeable reads and inspiration.
Welcome aboard americancliche!

Thank you very much. I was actually luckier than you know. My wife's school money came in the day we got her, I went looking on craigslist as soon as I got home. The only thing that was a must have, was 4x4 for winters here, finding a super clean, well maintained 4runner in the first 45 minutes of looking was purely luck.
