4runner front springs with Taco Struts

Anyone know if you can keep the stock front springs when using the Taco 5100s? I know I've seen people using the stock springs with the Tundras but I'm just wondering if I can save some money and keep my stock front springs. RCD recommends using the Taco front struts but Down South Motorsports suggests using Tundras so I'm not sure which I'm going to go with.
I only want 2" max of front lift so I don't think I want to use the TRD Tundra springs and struts as they give 2.5" even at the lowest setting.

Any words of wisdom will be appreciated.

Yes you can use the Taco 5100's with the stock springs and gain 2" of lift. It might ride a bit rough, but it will work. Only problem is the Taco 5100's are out of stock till mid June or so.

The TRD Tundra's and Tundra 5100's will yield only ~2" of lift on the lowest setting. Bump it up to the second setting and you will get ~2.5-2.6" of lift. The TRD Tundra coils and Tundra 5100's will ride a lot better since you won't be bumping the 5100's up at all and you won't be using 175,000 mile coils.

I was also thinking of either going with ome 880s or 881s in the front as I'm using 906s in the rear. I just don't want it to end up with reverse rake. Everyone that uses the tundra setup up front uses the taller OMEs in the rear (can't think of the number). I don't want to go that tall.
My 2001 is one of the short models to begin with so anything will look taller but I don't want the kids to have too hard of a time getting into it as I'm only doing this because I need new shocks and thought while I'm at to do a mild lift.

881's will either be level or slightly taller than the 906's. You could just go with the 881's and 906 with a trim packer on each side. That would make the back a little taller for a slight rake. They when you load it up you won't be sagging. Or just 880's for 1-1.5" and leave the 906's as they are.
