4Runner Grill mod

Hey Guys,

I was messing around with a few things and I made this out of ABS plastic. It was CNC cut and I then installed it into one of the mesh inserts I had kicking around.











I think it turned out really well and wanted to see if there would be any interest in something like this? I need to make a couple small tweaks to make it perfect. Like using better hardware and sealing up the edges so no light escapes behind the grill.

Would love to hear some feedback.
If there is an interest I can look into what kinds of other colors I can get my hands on. It should work with pretty much any preferred mesh insert if you already have an aftermarket grill.

Yep I have some LED's giving some back lightly for at night. I didn't really explain that part. I will take some more photos later to make it more clear.

The lettering isn't attached yet. I just set them on top to see what it would look like.

No not at all man. The grill in the picture works for 2010-2013 4Runners. The back lit panel itself would work with anything with enough space to mount it.

Well this is interesting, really cool but not perfect for me. I'm not a fan of the light up but I think this is a really cool idea. I think if you could make it more subtle I would like it, maybe a Black with Grey lettering or vice versa

Black and Grey will be the most popular for sure. The issue with the darker colors is it doesn't light up as well. I have some test material coming but unfortunately it has a long lead time, but I'm confident I will be able to make it work.

How much would you charge?

Once I figure out the color options, I will run a batch of these. It will help keep cost down but Im hoping for under $100 dollars for the panel.

Have a little update. I finally received my sample, and this stuff is awesome. One side is a textured black and the other side is a smooth gloss black. It will shine any colour LED that is used for back lighting. I currently only have white LEDs on hand.

I have the panel divided in half to show both shades of black with tape down the middle so light won't shine through the crack. The finished grill wouldn't have the seam in the middle. I'm gonna put these into production but would love some feedback on what you guys think.
