Does anyone 4th gen V8 not track well? Notice on regular roads my 4runner rides pretty stiff/harsh and i went snow wheeling today and it seems to slide all over the place. My buddy also have a 4th gen V8 and his rides a lot better than mine. My suspension setup is Icon coilovers with 700lb springs with JBA UCA in the front and bilstien 5100 and toytex superflex springs in the rear. I have a demello front bumper. Idk if i need to add more weight since i have a 700lb springs in the front? Also i notice when going over speed bump the rear end likes to kick out.

Check your panhard bar. As the rear end gets lifted/heavier springs (especially when you don't have weight in the back), the panhard bar becomes more angled. When you hit a bump at speed, the body kicks up, extended the springs, and the panhard (if not parallel) will cause the rear axle to shift left/right a bit. When the weight comes back down, the small shift in alignment front to back makes it feel like something kicked your ass to the left a bit.
Since I put a new rack and tent on my roof, this problem mostly went away. On trips the gear in the back also eliminated the problem. Was not a big enough problem for me to want to fix in the past, but a few companies sell brackets that can relocate the mounting position and help re-level the panhard if you feel that it's an issue.

There’s a few things you can do to help. Mine have been incremental and each has improved the ride.
-My first big improvement was when I replaced my rear sway bar end links with 2nd Gen Moog (1” longer) and red energy polyurethane bushings for the end links and sway bar bushings. I had probably a 20% improvement in stability on the Hwy.
-2nd was to upgrade the front sway bar bushings with polyurethane bushings as well. I saw very little improvement unfortunately but may have improved the squirellyness by maybe 5%.
-3rd welded on the pan hard bar extension to get the pan hard level again. This was about another 20% improvement once again.
-4th and 5th will be to replace my UCA’s with adjustable SPC to try and get my Caster to around 4.2* (I think that's what's recommended on here) and replace my LCA’s with new OEM (I am thinking right now). Was going to rebuild (still may) with white line poly bushings but don’t like the fact I can’t get OEM ball joints for the LCA’s to rebuild. Plus I want to say Id be around $185 plus ea. for parts when OEM are around $275-$300 ea. These last two are really supposed to help. It may be a month or 2 before I can get them in and on, then get it aligned. Really looking forward to getting the squirrelly gone at Hwy speeds over bumps. Gets a little too sketchy at times for me plus it likes to wander, especially in the wind.
