Get 6.5" 2-way compenents for the front door. Use the existing speaker bracket. The rear uses 6-3/4" speakers. You can actually drop these right in.

Do a search for the intsall by Br1ck. He did a great writeup. The speaker portion of my install took me about 1-1/2 hours, but could be done a lot faster if I had seen Br1ck's post before.

Speaker Newbie

Could someone provide me the following sizes for direct exchange type upgrade

Center -
Tweeters-
Front doors -
Back doors -

Thanks

I'm new to the forum, I own a 2000 Tacoma but my girlfriend owns a 2004 4Runner Limited (We are a Toyota family, LOL) and she has a rear speaker that is cracked and needs to be replaced. I know there are speakers in all four doors but I believe she has speakers in the cargo area (over the rear wheels) and that's where the busted speaker sound seems to be coming from. Is there, in fact, speakers in the rear bay area on the left and right panels? If so, what size are the speakers?

Thanks.

If you have the JBL system, there are speakers up high on the "D" pillars, next to the rear window.

They are same size as front/rear door tweeters & center speaker, I assume. Best way to measure the size is to pop that center grill open and measure. I never taken my rear ones out but the front doors/center/rear doors tweeter are all the same. They not standard size, but it doesn't matter. My new tweeters came with plastic bracket which easily installs over OEM bracket. You not going to find direct fit to replace those

I actually figured out it was the one 8" sub woofer located on the passenger side in the cargo area that is blown. Trying to find someone that will sell me just the sub and not the box or amp...(Toyota will only sell the whole thing for $500... :mmph:)

But thanks!
