I have a 98 4Runner with 3.4l auto 2wd that I put an engine in and now it wont start, ive read other threads on here about similar issues and it hasn't helped ive cleaned the terminals ive scraped the grounds clean to make sure it got a good connection ive changed the starter relay switch im thinking its a ground somewhere that im missing I have only seen the small wire on the back of the motor that bolts to the body and the ground wire that comes off the starter and alternator wiring harness. I used a test light on the plug that comes out of relay box for the starter and it doesn't have power going to the starter and ive tried a hot wire to the starter itsel all I get is a single click. everything works just fine before I put the motor in so im thinking I missed something can someone help me

All I can think is that it's a connection issue, which you said you've checked. Though, the single click seems consistent with a starter issue. I had this same issue where I'd turn the key and all I'd hear is a click. I removed my starter and cleaned the starter contacts with a wire brush. That did the trick. Maybe try that?
