Hi all,

I have been reading a lot on the forum amd still have mix answers about wether the tires will rub or not. For those of you who are driving your handsome looking TRDPs with stock rims and suspension, are you getting away with rubbing issues on the BFG KO2 275/70/17? Also, pictures will definitely help me to see how aggressive they look! Thanks

It will vary from vehicle to vehicle due to manufacturing and assembly tolerances (both the vehicle and the tire), so if 10 people tell you they have no issues that does not guarantee you wont.

That being said, I have a stock 2017 TRD Pro with 275/70R17 KO2s and I don't have any rubbing issues unless I reverse at full lock and go over a bump. When that happens, my driver's side tire rubs on the mudflap very slightly. If I had 285 KO2s, I would likely rub in regular day-to-day driving. 265/70R17 I have no rubbing even when I'm off-roading.

I have 275 KO2s on stock(for now) 2017 TRD Pro. I had zero rubbing issues at all.....until of course the spidertrax 1.25 spacers!! Then had major rubbing. Did the fender/wheel/mudflap mod you see the guys w 285s doing and no rubbing now.

An awesome tire in my opinion, and looks fantastic. Soon as they wear out On comes a new suspension and 285s.

Thanks guys! I do go over alot of speed bumps and hills in the area of where i live. Even going into my garage, i would have to pull in from an angle by cranking the steering wheel all the way to the left plus im going down hill. But i am still debating if i should make this move or not. Getting a lift is not an option right now!

rubbing issues on the BFG KO2 275/70/17?

I don't have a handsome trd pro, but in my 2011TE, pre lift, there was a very slight rub in full lock reverse. Nothing to even worry about. Post lift it rubbed a lot, and I mean a lot. It is an easy fix, simply un screw the fender liner and "pull" the front of the fender liner forward as far as possible and screw it back down. It took about 5 minutes per side.

FYI, lots of pictures in my thread, and I wouldn't call BFG KO2's that aggressive looking........but they do look good.

I am now debating to go with either 255/75/17 or 275/70/17 both in KO2s. All I am looking for is a bigger size tire (at least 32 inch without any kind of issue), and the width is not that big of a deal for me. Not to mention the weight on the 275/70/17. 255/75/17 should fill up the gap well. What are you guys thoughts on this? Am I crazy?! Lol

I have 255/75/17 Cooper stt pros now. No rubbing at all. That being said once I change out suspension I am going with 255/80/17 or 34/10.50/17. To get back to your question, the biggest difference will be in give width. 255 will not rub and 275 may at full lock. Just comes down to width and the difference is negligible.

Nice! Do you have any front and side shots of your truck? I always think the KO2s are beefier looking than the other tires even though they are the same in size.

Looks great. I think the biggest difference when it comes to stock wheels the trd off road wheels have more offset than the trd pro wheels.

Pretty close mileage to the stock 265. Dropped more when I put a full length roof rack on.

I called my local discount tire store and they said they no longer carry the 255/75/17 KO2s. They are selling for over 900 bucks online!

Here’s some pics of mine with the 275/70/17 BFG KO2 on stock height. I had zero rubbing daily driving even at full lock but a tiny bit when it got on some rough roads. I did the usual mods, fender liner etc and it was all better. Now I’m running Bilstein’s 1.75 w/ 1” cornfed. I added Spidertrax and love the stance but they definitely create a lot of rubbing.
