Wow, where are they getting all those used TRDs and a lifted Trail?? Rich SF folks buying them to be cool and then unloading them when they get bored?
Just insane to have those kinds of prices on used TRDs...

Man,..the running boards make it look so weighed down, non-athletic looking -- don't know why Toyota puts them on the Pro's.

Agree. Really glad that mine didn't have them. I did get 'stuck' with the remote start, that I will likely never use. Ever.

"Toyota" didn't put them on, their independent distributors did at the port. Reason? To make more money.

That doesn't look like a typical/oem running board. Mine didn't come with one, getting out was easy, but everyone else was *****ing about how difficult it is to get into. So I put the oem set on and it doesn't look too bad. But I don't like how they are off road debris collectors.

I think the one I reserved has "rigid running boards" whatever that is...as long as its not the old school tubular goofy things I saw on someone's that rust and/or bend at the slightest impact.
I will leave them on for the first few years as I do not plan on hard core wheeling, and I have the girlfriend's kids, other munchins I help take care of in the neighborhood, and some elderly friends that will probably appreciate them.

They're not rigid, and will bend just as easy as the tubular ones.

Ugh...oh well...my goal with going TRD Pro is to NOT modify it at all. It already has a minor lift and upgraded suspension, rims, and tires, with the locker - so I should be plenty fine to do some off-roading. I have owned maybe 9 or 10 vehicles in my life, all 4x4s. Never owned a car EVER. And say out of 10, there were only 3 I did not lift, but even then I added bumpers, skids, lights or other stuff....I am trying to be mature and domesticated, get a 4x4 and leave it bone stock hah.
Ok, so maybe it will need sliders, and perhaps some lighting upgrade hah.

For you SoCa guys who I gave the contacts to, I just talked to John and he said he will do his best.
My advice is this, if you know what you want tell him exactly and get on the list. Once he has one that may suite you give the deposit, it is totally refundable if you find one somewhere else. If you can be patient you can get what you want and only $41, 622. You may need to wait though obviously...but in my case I was willing to wait, and in doing so he called me up and gave me first dibs on another one coming in sooner that someone backed out on.
Mine is arriving in port today or tomorrow...should be there by end of month he estimates.

Here is CO they have 3 Grey TRD Pro's within 150 miles of Denver. Through USAA I can get about the dealer handling and shipping off. Costco won't give anything off MSRP, but they give a TEP w/ KDSS at invoice.
There are two used ones in the area. Both are about 2k OVER MSRP and they have about 15k and 30k miles on them. Crazy.

Don't think this was an option when i got my TRD Pro, but for those of you looking you can get a trail Premium with KDSS and now options are availible for the Bilstein suspension, TRD Wheels, TRD Skid plate, and the the shift lever.(on toyota.com, not sure if this is only for my region?)
The only thing you wouldn't get that i can think of is the black painted accents on the front and rear bumper, and the "Toyota Grill" But you would get KDSS and a sunroof, A very good tradeoff if you ask me(I would probably go this way)
From a $ perspective you will likely come out the same or less. Most dealers will discount a Trail and SR5, but only a small % of dealers will discount the TRD Pro(due to limited availability)

Curious about that...because it could have made my life a lot easier if they let you order them like that and still sell a little over invoice. I only had one dealer tell me they offered a "TRD appearance package" which was everything but the suspension and badging.
