4runner TRD Pro

out of curiosity are you guys leasing them or buying them with what kind of money down and what are your payments wise, if you dont mind me asking.
I went through my deal a few weeks back. It didn't make sense for me to lease as I'm in an outside sales position with work. I was able to buy mine $1,000 under MSRP due to the fact this was a pro that someone else ordered and backed out on. They went with the Tundra TRD Pro instead. They offered $1,500 more on my trade vehicle (2012 honda accord) to take the Pro they already have coming as opposed to ordering my own. After the trade in deduction and tax added I'm looking at a 72 month term at $582/mo. This was also with ~$1,000 in optional equipment added on.

I'm now searching nationally to try for a deal below msrp. Have a few leads but with shipping and dealer fees from other states most would be around msrp in California.

If anyone wants a lead on an incoming Cement for msrp I can help out. This one has about 2k in port options but the dealer said they might be able to still remove them. Shipping to Los Angeles would be about 600 and the dealer fee is not bad at 150.

pm me if you want the info.

This may or may not be helpful. I went with 30% ceramic tint up front and it matches the factory tint very well. My tint shop also said they can't tint the rears because the factory tint is "embedded into the glass via ink within the glass layers" (I have no idea if that's true or not). All they could do was tint over the existing tint, but would not offer any guarantees on adhesion, color, or visibility, which are things they normally cover.

It has been my experience with all my 4runners starting with my 90 that all the windows except the front two were tinted within the glass. I as well have tried to get a good match by tinting the fronts darker but never seemed to get it perfect. I also have never had any trouble with the tint on the rear windows regarding adhesion...YMMV

cheers,
Willie

Anyone have a URL/link for the Rav4 mirror mod for the TRDP?

It's not a link, but at least it will confirm the part numbers for you:

I installed these mirrors yesterday. Literally a 5 minute job.
The mirrors are a tad smaller than the stock ones but still look good and serve their purpose.

Thanks for posting this. I'm still trying to find the thread that showed a cement TRDP and the guy painted these overlays to match. Anyone know where it is? I've been searching. If I find it first, I'll post it here.

(Just trying to find where he got the matching paint).
I don't know the exact page, but it is clear back around page 499-ish. If I recall correctly, they didn't use the cement paint, but got a gray that matched the TOYOTA on the front grill. Looked nice :)

Thats not today..... How's the ride so far? Still waiting for mine landed in Portland on March 6th and still no processing date.

LOL not at all today.. this was thursday. didnt have a chance to post until today. yeah i had a nice delay in portland as well.. as soon as it reflected it being on the truck, it was another 3-5 days. i think total i had to wait over 3 weeks from the point they called that it was in Portland. but my understanding is there was a landslide blocking tracks or something. they could have been BSing with me.

Yeah thats BS'ing you. They go into Portland on a ship then they are trucked to the dealers in the Northwest. They dont put them on trains unless they are going far is my understanding. I think 3+ weeks is normal. Its a shame, when you order a BMW the processing is quick if its an order car. Ive had BMWs that arrive in Oxnard to me in Seattle 5 days after getting off the boat.

I got the same paint

I got it at home depot. its not bad, but it is a couple shades off of the front toyota emblem. from afar, it does look nice. up close, you can see blemishes it tended to pool up on the edge of the lettering. I scraped it off of one letter and got lazy.. but when ahead and applied. overall, i like it.

sorry, spaced on the ride question. Overall, i love it. city driving, and freeway driving, it rides so smooth. even got a few looks from jeeps and rovers as i rolled by. but I went to my parents out in Spanaway and decided to hit a couple trails before the federalis pulled me over. Apparently i was on ft. lewis property. But i was overly impressed with how it handled on the trails, even going down a 45 degree rocky incline, and I have zero experience off roading. still trying to get used the controls. def looking forward to taking it out. i'm only 8 days in so didnt have much of a chance lol.
