Will Toyota offer the suspension kit for install on other 4Runners?
I assume it's just the fancy shocks and coils, or is it just shocks?

Did you check out the link I posted above your's?
"...Available on 4X4 models of Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner, all TRD Pro Series vehicles will be equipped with:
TRD Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs
TRD-tuned front springs
It is starting to sound like it will be better to get a Trail and save the money for other mods,
I'm going to get some popcorn. This is about to get good.
I think the TE will carry on. The Pro is for the vast majority of 4Runner buyers that don't want to mess with the truck but want a really nice suspension off the showroom floor. I'd be one of these buyers because I simply can't be bothered to mess about with mods. I only did tires and mud guards the 4 years I owned my 4Runner. It may seem like all 4Runner owners are mod crazy because of what we see here, but a vast majority are not. I'd rather buy exactly what I want than build it. No one wants my Frankenstein of what I think is the best 4Runner when it is time to sell. If/when I get another 4Runner, it will definitely be a TE or Pro and, again, left stock because they are more capable stock than what I'm going to put them through.
They are NOT the same Springs that are on the TE..
They are a higher spring rate..
Keep in mind also.. After market mods. Are never as solid as installed from Toyota factory
So all of you saying it won't be worth it or just better to do the suspension your self... It won't be as solid as if you got it from factory.
To go ahead and diffuse this, there is no "better". It depends on your priorities. For the guy that is going to put his truck through hell, self built is probably better. That guy has a very specific criteria and will need to select parts to meet that criteria. For the casual offroader that just wants shit to work, the TRD pro will be excellent because Toyota's TRD engineers presumably did all the research to make the best factory package possible. Yes, it will cost more money than building your own setup. It also costs a lot more money to build a 5th gen SR5 into a serious off road rig than starting out with a SFA 1st gen 4Runner for a couple thousand bucks. It all depends on one's priorities.
I'm just ****ing happy that TRD is finally giving the 4Runner some attention. It seems like we've been ignored up until now. I also like the fact that Toyota is building an enthusiast's "brand". That means this kind of development will continue and continue to improve. It means that we might continue to see BOF SUVs instead of becoming the next Pathfinder or Explorer. Toyota can't please everyone, but if this package is as nice off the showroom floor as the T|X Baja, it will be a very good truck. Maybe the success of these packages will result in them realizing that there are enough buyers out there to justify a V8 or some of the other things that people here ask for.
I need to quit forums. So damn pessimistic. :dammit:
