Don't need to see the piston. KDSS sway bar mounts to the LCA, and is huge. Non-KDSS sway bar mounts to the knuckle, and is tiny and tucked up much higher.

I hope they put the 4.6L V8 in this thing soon! Unless they do I'm keeping my 4th for a long time. After you put on all the overland gear on, bigger tires, rack, front/rear bumpers, etc. V8 is almost a must.

I still have hope toyota will put the 4.6 in there.

You can get steel ones for about half the price of the one linked. If you have to make do without one, put the loop of the recovery strap into the hitch receiver and use a hitch pin through the loop.

My apologies for going a little OT, but is there a way to use the normal ball mount for recoveries?

No. The ball is not made for that and will turn into a projectile. Plenty of people have been killed like that.

Don't hold your breath, toyota hasn't been able to move v8 4runners in the fourth gen and until the v8 hits the Tacoma you won't see it in a runner. Plus ford and Chevys mid size don't have v8s. You want a midsize bof with a v8 get ready to buy a jeep.

JGC V8 is unit body. It maintains a longitudinal drivetrain, but it is not BOF.

Yeah then no one offers a midsize V8 BOF. My buddy has a v8 unlimited but he just told me it was AEV conversion. Bad assumption on my part. I'd have never realized his wasn't stock. That's a nice kit.

That is a vehicle that I'm surprised doesn't offer a V8. People are always throwing big tires on them which suits a V8 and they sell a boatload of them each year (150k, I think), so I figure payback would be pretty easy to get. Unless the plants are just running balls out as is and they can't justify the expense for more sales that would require investment for more capacity. I guess, though, like the 4Runner, what are you going to buy instead of the Wrangler V6 if you have your heart set on something like a Wrangler? I don't think you settle for a Tahoe instead if you want a V8 Wrangler Unlimited. The few that really, absolutely have to have it can just do the AEV conversion.

No matter how I try to word it, a Google search provides nothing but the Factor 55 product Intruder mentioned, along with full tow hitch kits, Alfred Hitchcock, Will Smith's movie Hitch, and lots of sites with advise how to hitchhike.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.
