Very good review, he seems like he knows his stuff.
But I think he said you can have KDSS in the limited which is not true, but overall excellent review and I like how he shows many details of the truck.
I'm tempted to get a trd-pro but I do not think I can have a sunroof. My current 4runner's headroom is lacking with the sunroof.
I'm very tempted to replace my 2001 4Runner with the TRD Pro but, for $42,000ish I can get a really nice certified Lexus GX460 with the V8 thats a few years old. I have to really weigh comforts of daily driving and tasks with great off road features on the TRD Pro package.

It's not like the Pro is going to be uncomfortable. Granted its not a Lexus, it's still probably going to be pretty dang comfortable IMO. Interior doesn't look much different than the 2014's

I had an 08 sr5, with sunroof, and the headroom was lacking. I am 6' 4" and have about an inch to spare in the 2014 with sunroof. Just letting ya know in case that helps.

The real price is going to be what the Dealerships Charge for them once they make it on the lot. It'll probably be the same thing as when the Raptors came out. They had a sticker price and everyone was paying more than that.
The MSRP on my Trail Premium was 41k, got it for 36k though. I don't think the extra 5k is worth a skidplate, badging, and shocks. But if they throw in the custom floormats I might have to upgrade.

I would appreciate some advice for those who have already committed to a new TRD PRO. I contacted my local toyota dealership and spoke with the general manager. He confirmed with me yesterday that my name is the first in his dealership "region" that has preferenced the TRD PRO 4runner. I requested to put a down payment on the car and unfortunately his response had me slightly confused. Long story short he is telling me toyota dealerships cannot order cars and therefore cannot guarantee me with 100% certainty that I will receive the car I want. Any truth to this?

Are you saying getting rid of the 4Runner TE equipped with KDSS or removing it from a trail model... Because that hasn't happened.
People have removed entirely the XREAS system from a Limited model though.

I bought a New base 2014 GX460 for $47000+ TL. KDSS is standard. It does not have Nav but it does have a back up camera with a huge 7 in screen.
The GX is very nice around town. Very quiet and lots of torque. Perfect Mall crawler.
The only drawback is that the GX is too nice to take off road and it is a little low in the front. I took it off road once (drove the Main Divide in Socal for about 50 miles). Scuffed the lower front a little and the running board.
So I am considering the following:
1. get a new 2014 trail (good discount right now)
2. wait for the pro to go down in price. (Can't wait)
3. buy my neighbor's 2004 gx 470 and remove the running boards (he is going to sell to me at CarMax trade in price).
4. (Free) go off roading in my friend's old 4r (300K miles and still going strong).
