That's what I thought. So I went to the toyota and the parts guy looked up the part number and that price is way off. I got them for $40

cowtown: will do; was looking at the new Nitto's but they don't come in 275's same with Toyo OC (which I'm running now and they have been great but I got them in "P" rated; poor planning on my part and doing a lot more off-roading than I thought I would as my T4R isn't my DD) just need to convince the wife that we need new tires again and hopefully sell the Toyo's and rims.
Ok back to original programming......need to get me some Badges!

nydon: thanks for the info on the tires and badging; forgot to ask; is your front and rear black out of the bumpers (and roof rails) plasti-dip?

Yes the front and back are blacked out and the roof rack is actually off a 2013 TE. I hated the new roof rack that it came with. The dealer that I bought the truck from had a left over 2013 TE so they switched the roof racks for me for free. My sales man was a friend of mine from high school so he really hooked me up.

$40 for each side. The package contains the TRD and the PRO badging. I know $80 is a little high a lot better then $289 for one lol. The TRD web site has them for $333.00

this was similar to my experience. put a deposit down on one last week. it was the most unnerving buying (well almost buying) experience of my life.

*gulp*
i went through with it because i don't think there's any other way at this point and didn't want to miss out on this truck.
my dealer still cannot give me an exact delivery date, only that it has not yet hit the port.
how can you use truecar for a model that has no history or pricing?

"need to put down a non refundable deposit"? Uhhhh...run, don't walk, but RUN away from that dealer. You don't need to do anything and you certainly don't have to put down a non-refundable deposit. They basically knew you were desperate (mistake 1) and strong armed you into putting down a non-refundable deposit. Now, I would go over the language of the deposit and see if there is any section in there that says it's non-refundable because they can't withhold your money like that. If you change your mind then that is your right and the dealer will still make plenty off the car from another buyer. Now that they have you by the balls they're basically going to say it's non-refundable and that you are going to buy the car at MSRP or higher. Again, they're feeding off you looking desperate.

I was convinced waiting for the T4R Pro was worth it regardless of cost. No sunroof or KDSS and based on the TE, not Premium explains the reasonable 42k.
I'd been considering the TEP, adding the ICON stage 5 with addition of adjusters and 3" rear springs. However adding the wheels/tires/labor I was looking at a truck that was 45k. But now I see it would be a superior suspension system, comfortably get a 33" tire, level without rake and has the sunroof and KDSS.
It's an extra 3k, but it's starting to sound like a much better package then the TRDP. Depending on what you want out of the truck.
I'm trying to access property in the back of the Sierras, climbing through un maintained, wash out, dirt roads covered in 2-3" rock. I spend an 1 1/2 @ 10-15mph bottoming out my existing trucks suspension. The TRDP sounded like everything I needed in one turn key vehicle. This thread really has me thinking differently.
Appreciate any input, ready to start purchase tomorrow.

It's a special order car. Unless somebody backs out of the deal for the one they specifically ordered that's the only way anybody is getting one.
I've got a history with this dealer so I have some confidence there not going to put the screws to me. And the deposit wasn't so huge that I'm unwilling to walk away.
Lastly, nobody is getting this truck for under MSRP. If you do, it will be for no more than $500 under MSRP. And in the end, when yr spending ~42K on the damn thing, that's fairly meaningless. I happen to think that Mr. Truecar who claims to have negotiated almost 3K under MSRP is full of shit.

It's no more of a special order than others who have the dealers deck out their SR5/Trail/Ltd at the port. But keep believing that. I'm assuming the deposit is anywhere from $500 - $1000 (sure hope it wasn't more). Must be nice to be in your shoes if you can give the dealer free money like that if you decide to walk out on the TDRP!!!

the difference being that a TRDP is available exclusively on an order basis.
more realistically, if i don't like the deal on the TRDP, i would probably apply the deposit to a 2014 TE.
i'll post more details once the deal is done. i'm not desperate, and i won't be milked.
again though, nobody is gonna get a screaming deal on this truck.
I put down a 3k deposit on the Pro back in July, but had a list of requirements that had to be met in order for the purchase to go through. Two of the requirements (KDSS and Sunroof) are obviously not happening, so I decided to cancel. I am just moving over the deposit to a 2015 TEP and going to mildly build it on my own. I assume the guy you are referring to can stil move the deposit to another vehicle if he decides not to go the pro route..

It looks like 1.5" lift to the front of the vehicle which provides an additional 1" of wheel travel. No lift on the back.
